Former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino has passed away today. She was 76 years old. Her death was confirmed by her son Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino who said that her mother died at exactly 3:18 am the the Makati Medical Center. She died of Cardio Vascular Arrest.
She was earlier diagnosed with colon cancer and confined at the Makati Medical Center for more than a month.
Former President Cory Aquino will be remembered as the icon of Filipino democracy, having led a military supported revolt that ousted the dictator former President Ferdinand Marcos who ruled for more than 20 years.
